I have been working as a pharmacy technician for the past 3 years or so at this one store. After a while I just started to hate going to work, because its so busy and the management isn't all that great. I moved to a different area also, and there is the same pharmacy there that I liked and wanted to transfer to also. So i asked if the new manager would help me transfer into the new store permanently. For some reason my current manager denied and said that no, she really needed me to stay at her store every weekend. Can she do that? And after that I justed started slakin off at work because I was pissed off. My manager is a control freak, and I hate working with her. This new store is only walking distance for me and the hours there are more accessible according to my school schedule. I see my manager tomorrow, what should I tell her? I quit?|||Go above her (whoever her boss is) and ask them if it would be possible for you to transfer - explain your reasoning. If your manager is like that I wouldn't even say anything more about it to her - just go above her and see if anything can be done. If not, then you are no worse off, but the possibility is still there that they could say yes! Ask them how long it will take for them to determine it - and keep working well, so they have no reason for them to not grant it should it be a possibility.
Worse case scenario, they say no. If it's that bad, then you can quit, but at least try first to get moved by her boss. There are stores with different names you could probably apply at if it doesn't work out.
Edited to say: You could also go to the manager at the store you want to work in and see if he/she could use you, and if he/she wants you there. If/when you talk to the person above your boss, you'd probably have a much better chance at getting into that store if that manager is hoping to have you and has some say with whoever is in charge above your boss.|||I would apply at the other store and then if they offer you a position then tell your current manager you quit. But don't quit until you have another job lined up first . I wouldn't tell I quit, I just tell her why you want to switch , and be honest with her and maybe everything will work out.
GOOD LUCK!!!
