Can an employer transfer me without asking/ consulting?
Ok so a quick background... I've been working for this Dental office for a few months. They are known to be a shady company( with payroll delays, not paying over time etc) This guy I worked with was harassing me because he had to work for me on my birthday. He was refusing to. So I said go talk to management because I don't do the schedule. I told my manager that if this guy kept bothering me, then I was THINKING of maybe transferring to another other office. (they have 5 different offices in the state) The VERY next day- my manager tells me to go to another office 30 MILES away to "help" for the day and as soon as I walked in that new office, the manager there gives me my schedule. I said whoa, wait a second I NEVER agreed on anything. She goes well the owner said you're here now. WTF?? What just happened? Can an employer do this? Can they just dump you somewhere else without even asking you? I told my manager that I NEVER said I wanted to transfer, I said I was "THINKING" He said you said you wanted to, so I transferred you and there's nothing you can do now. WOW, thanks you jerk. Is this legal? Any advice? Thank you so much|||If you have an employment contract I believe they can transfer you without asking you. But if thats not the case I dont see how they could without your consent...
